Join us for an exciting webinar opening the SBTi Maritime Transport Tool Public Consultation aimed to get shipping to 1.5°C
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is pleased to announce that the first draft of the SBTi Maritime Transport Sector Methodology will be available for public consultation from 29 March 2021 to 16 April 2021.
Produced as part of the SBTi Maritime Transport Sector Development, this methodology will help users and providers of marine transportation services understand the level of target-setting ambition required to meet the Paris Agreement goals. This webinar will guide participants through a deep dive of the proposed SBTi Maritime Transport Sector Methodology. The webinar is aimed at all stakeholders related to maritime transport including owners, operators, shippers and anyone interested in aligning their operations and supply chain emissions to a 1.5°C trajectory.
Jean-Marc Bonello, the lead technical advisor on trajectory design for the SBTi Maritime Transport Tool will be speaking on the webinar and participating in a Q&A session. Jean-Marc is a consultant at UMAS and a lead author of the Sea Cargo Charter and a co-author of the 4th IMO GHG Study. His doctoral research at the UCL Energy Institute investigates vessel performance data use in decision-making related to chartering and owner-charterer relationships the uptake of energy efficiency technologies in shipping towards emission reduction.
